King Juan Carlos has declared that Morocco is ‘an example of openness and stability'.

Behind the ceremony, the King has travelled with five Spanish Ministers and a business team. The team comprises of 100 entrepreneurs from each country who have been living and talking together in the same luxury hotel.
The King brought up the old project of a tunnel between Spain and Morocco which would be 38.7 kilometres long, 27.7 of which would be under the Mediterranean Sea. Minister for Development Ana Pastor, agreed with the Moroccan minister for transport, that the two previous companies involved, Secegsa and Sned be asked to reactivate the project.
Justice Minister Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón met with the number two in the Moroccan justice ministry with the idea to block the ‘kafalas’. This is a form of Islamic adoption. Some 25 Spanish families are waiting to adopt and the plan is not to alter the children’s nationality or religion.
